Data sources and attribution

Last updated: 24 September 2026
CompoundVision's forecasts, accuracy scorecards and revenue estimates are built from data published by grid operators, market platforms, weather services and public plant registers. This page lists each source, what we use it for, and its attribution statement. Where a provider's licence prescribes the wording, it is reproduced exactly. The providers listed here do not endorse CompoundVision. For the conditions that apply to each dataset, read the provider's own licence or terms, linked below. Weather and climate

Open-Meteo

What we use it for Numerical weather prediction forecasts and ensembles (wind, solar irradiance, temperature, cloud cover) that drive every forecast, and historical weather records for the Climatology view. Changes made: we combine several weather models, adjust wind to each turbine's hub height and convert the weather into power output with our own models.

Power plant registers

Farm names, locations, capacities and turbine details come from public plant registers. Outside the United States they reach CompoundVision through CEAtlas, Compounding Energy's plant database, which compiles the registers below. Changes made: records from different registers are matched, merged and de-duplicated, and missing turbine details are estimated.
