Terms of Service
1. What CompoundVision is
CompoundVision (operated by Compounding Energy Ltd) provides physics-based wind and solar power forecasts for regions and fleets in the US, Great Britain, and Europe, via a web dashboard and a REST API. Paid tiers unlock longer forecast horizons, historical data, portfolios, and API access.
2. Your account
You need an account (email + password, or single sign-on from
Gridsight) to use authenticated features. Keep your credentials and API
keys secret; you are responsible for activity under them. You can revoke
an API key at any time with DELETE /v1/auth/api-keys/{key_id}
and end all sessions with POST /v1/auth/logout.
3. Acceptable use
Don't attempt to break, overload, or probe the service, resell raw API output as your own product without an agreement, or share one paid seat or key across organisations. API requests are rate-limited and metered per tenant.
4. Forecasts are estimates
Forecasts are probabilistic estimates produced from numerical weather models and plant physics. They will sometimes be wrong — occasionally very wrong. They are provided as is, without warranty of any kind, and are not trading, financial, or operational advice. You are solely responsible for decisions (including trading decisions) made using the service. Our published accuracy scorecards report measured skill, including regions where the model currently underperforms.
5. Availability
We aim for high availability but offer no formal SLA at this time. Current service and data-freshness status is published at /status.
6. Billing
Paid subscriptions, where offered, are billed through Stripe. Prices and tier features can change; changes apply from your next billing period.
Analyst and Desk plans start with a 14-day trial. A payment card is required to start the trial; you can cancel at any time during it and nothing is charged. Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time and end at the close of the current billing month. We do not offer refunds.
First-quarter break clause. Annual Desk plans can be cancelled at day 90 with no further payments. You pay for the first quarter; nothing is refunded; the remaining three quarters fall away. Judge us on the public scorecard for a quarter before you commit to the year.
7. Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Compounding Energy's total liability arising from the service is limited to the amount you paid for it in the twelve months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including trading losses.
8. Termination
You can stop using the service and ask us to delete your account at any time (email us). We may suspend accounts that violate these terms, normally with notice unless the violation threatens the service or other customers.
9. Changes
We may update these terms; material changes will be flagged on this page with a new "last updated" date. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.
